I will try to say hello for you, Don. But she’ll most likely bite my head off.

This is a magnificent photograph. These two are so truly married.
Married people start to look alike. The dog's head and shoulders sag, and the man's do, too. Their eyes narrow without losing vigilance, and their mouths both show strong, but wary, resolve.
They both know how to fold arms and legs for efficient heat retention. Trust makes it unnecessary to cling to one another.
This is companionship of the highest order.

Many thanks for your astute observations Brian, Phil and Don.

Shit John you're uncaring
As Maryon has said
A beast you are, an utter beast
An utter beast in bed
To say "Let Daddy kiss it"
What's going on here I think?
He's going down on daughter?
No John, refuse I wink
Then like a shitty bull you are
Fucking made you fart
(Hey? That's alliteration)
John, this ain't fine art......?

Thank you kindly, Do, Leon and Jemima. Your support means a lot to me, for, as William Carlos Williams taught us, so briefly,so long-ago: "so much depends upon a red wheelbarrow."

Thanks Brian, Jason, Don, Martin, and M.C.
I think that I probably have enough material for a book now but wouldn't have a clue how to go about getting a deal.
I usually try to write in local dialect. I do an open mic in Doncaster, so I tend to write as I speak.
Glad to have brightened your day M.C
Cheers Kevin

Strong piece! I would have never thought it is sexuality related. Growth is a long and painful process. Sometimes when big changes happen rapidly your mind doesn't have time to catch up and till it does you see yourself, your new self or the "transition self" (for lack of a better term) in the mirror and you don't recognize your reflection as yourself. But slowly you get there. It's happened to me. Had nothing to do with sex, but was definitely identity-related!
Thank you?
Mae

Hello Ray!
First off, it is certain that any poem is up for interpretation! so view it as you like ?
As I was writing this, I was more focused on the effect that depression, adolescence, or really any period of change can have upon the way you perceive yourself (sexuality included!). It's a weird feeling, to finally see yourself as not just a person, but a new person... instead of running on autopilot or something!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and respond to my work, it means a lot!

Eva N., there's some say that there is no such thing as 'bad' publicity.
Now you need to write an eulogy to The Coop, mentioning them at least as many times as you mentioned your ex supplier of life's essentials.

Brief but to the point that. Tangling with dragons eh. I think I might have met one or two of them in my time. As to tattoos, my parents always warned against having them. Can't understand why so many people I see locally are covered in them. Personally I think they mar the skin but what do I know! Evocative use of words though your poem. Enjoyed.

A poignant and instructive coincidence - there has just been a
report that Britain's oldest firm of builders, with an ancestry that dates
back to the reign of Queen Elizabeth the First, has just failed while
trying to complete a £22 million project.
THAT is sad!

That is brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! "Money-Go-Round," I mean.
Everything about it is delightful. I know it is difficult to write dialect, but yours is smooth and convincing.
Story telling, dialect, rhyme and romping rhythm.
I guess it was OK.

In reading this beautiful poem John it takes me back to my love of and isn't that dissimilar from works by the old masters such as Wordsworth, Coleridge, Frost, and Hardy. And I more than agree with Leon in saying it really does deserve to be voted in as the poem of the week. Thank you. Jemima.

The Future, the Present, and Past,
Were having a small, friendly spat,
The Past said, "I've been there!"
The Present looked back,
Remembered his story,
(His face went all slack,)
But Future had nothing to say,
And stared out the window all day.
Philosophical poetry is an irresistable minefield. I'll try to follow in your footsteps.

can be classed an affliction
then you my friend
have that addiction
But would you wish
a cure for your diction
if so you should maybe
try to write fiction
