JC - by all means. let us continue to agree to disagree.
I won't insist that you go away and come back with the
result I want! ?
The apparent intransigence of the EU might just be founded
on the fear that other nations (that word rankles with its federal mindset) might take to their heels too if the UK is
allowed to slip free from the "project".

Hang in there Damon. And please don't hurt yourself, no matter what you do it won't punish the people who hurt you, it will only hurt you more. And nobody deserves that. Be the bigger person, find yourself outside of them. Forgive them and let them be. I know it might hurt to hear but chances are that nobody will bother to knock some sense into you. Not because there is something wrong with you, it's just the way life is. BUT the very fact that you ask for someone to knock some sense into you makes me think you already have the sense! You're crying for help. You must really be in pain... I get that and i'm sorry. But the truth is only you can save yourself. Love yourself. Life is beutiful. You just can't see it yet. And when you save yourself and emerge to the surface with your head up high thanks to your formidable struggles everybody will respect and revere you. Because you'll have the wisdom of a man who knows how ro fight. Trust me, I speak from experience. Death is not the answer. Keep writing!

I sit in the garden and hear the trees talking,
As the wind in their branches are powerfully stalking.
They spread out from their roots in a variety of ways,
They were placed there for us to passionately praise.

I’m afraid I disagree with you completely, MC.
I have built up a grudging respect for TM. Despite her personal views of Brexit she has tried to make practical sense of the voters’ wishes to leave.
Farage has no plan, nor Davies, nor Johnson, nor Corbyn, indeed, nor yourself, MC.

Great work and a fine array of tributes.

Fiery Jack was the first record that I ever heard on The John Peel Show in 1979, the rest is history....

MES was a fine poet, and I still can't believe that I can no longer have the excitement of looking forward to a new Fall
album.....

The message is clear and rhymed to please folk like me.
My late mother used to say about some: "Too clever by half". Therein lies the danger - of layering a message a
shade too much by using "terminological inexactitude" (as
J. Rees-Mogg said of J. Corbyn recently in Parliament).
I endorse the value given by other comments to use of subtlety. although, like irony, it can be missed by
inattentive unaware minds. But that's their loss and should
not dissuade a writer from its practice and the pleasure it
gives to others.

POV on parenthood past eighteen or so?

@Mark, I don't want to give the impression that I'm waiting for an extended family by setting up homestead, so I'm moving right along. Somehow, I'm sure that tension is one of the few things that brings about change. If it be so, then I wish just a bit for him--just enough.

A hard rain...

John, have you seen her performance in the stead of that Nobel Laureate, Bob?

If you have, I suppose you already know that it's right down to earth and fantastic.

..cleaving to these remnant bits of what is in danger of becoming part of "the old world",

Rachel

Like his admired biographical subject, BJ seems the sort to
be flexible in his political career when it suits his aims.
We can forget how WSC changed sides but not always his
views over a long career when moved sufficiently to act.
And yes - I'm long enough in the tooth to remember the
musical source of your own inspiration - even once
owning an LP of rock opera "Tommy" when it came out.
The problems for the present Conservative and Unionist
Party began when its hierarchy felt they could play with
the hopes of an electorate that looked optimistically to
a common trading zone - and insisted on pushing on regardless in support of the unspoken aims of the EU "project"...uncannily reflecting the schism in pre-war UK politics dividing those who had opposing ideas about
Nazi Germany's worth and long term intentions.
And perhaps BJ sees himself as today's WSC against
Theresa May's Chamberlain? Politics takes no prisoners
and it's sometimes wise to suspend belief!

Our October's upside down
It warms us up for summer
Which when it finally does come
Can be a bloody bummer

I like your simile John Coopey
Enter lamb and exit lion
But cos we're living upside down
Our lion leaves us fryin' ?
