Arkles Lane, Anfield Way, that's your patch?
One virtual hug is on its way, just now dispatched.
Though Santa might later bring you the wish you described
This virtual hug, sent just now, should already have arrived.

Thank you Paul and Stephen. Yes, as you suggest, I still struggle with the identity of the strange man. Is he the man in line 2 or a third party? If he is in line 2, there is definitely no one to share problems with. If he's someone else, there is tension in the relationship. Or is there?
As usual, more questions than answers.
I'm signing off for a few days and wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Thanks Paul - I wanted this to be bit a headscratcher, so I put the opening stanza at the end( a little bit like 2001 maybe), My wife will find that unsettling ..... I do keep my options open and i'm very pleased you found it intriguing!
Happy Xmas to you and Pat too..... All go today cooking - keep going you fool!
Hannah, Stephen and JD Bardo again thanks a lot. Nice to see you on here Hannah.. Thanks too Tony and Stephen.

In that relatively short period of time you've become a damn fine poet, Julie. Keep it up...& watch those fingers, it always seems to be parsnips that get me!

A Christmas reminder to always be kind
You can never see inside another’s mind
If you cannot think of a kind thing to say
Then please say nothing, it’s best for all this way

I write my poems to exercise my brain,
I walk through words again and again.
And constantly time after time,
Come across words that help me rhyme.

I'm sorry I haven't got the time,
I'm busy thinking of a rhyme.
Let's wait until the Spring,
Then we can have a fling.

Here, here. I wholeheartedly agree. Hanging out on WOL with our poetic friends from around the world, turns loneliness and misery into a global date with destiny, as we inspire the muse within to fight our battles with the mighty pen! Best wishes for a healthy, happy holiday. ~ V

Thanks for the kind comment, Greg. Like you, I still get through the list of distant relatives and old friends, even if it does sometimes feel like writing into a void. Having said that, I suppose it is all part of life's fabric, difficult to define but regretted when it is gone.
