Fred,
Thank you for these words as I really needed such a poem this morning. All you say is absolutely true...I like the words, "Living in the past contradicts".

Jennifer I too have
Wrinkles on my bod
I don't care what they think of me
It's what I got, (from God)
The trouble is I don't get free
Anti-wrinkle stuff
Instead girls think it's manly
For me that's good enough
I buying some wrinkle-moregrow now....

I'm comfortably numb with my downdated stuff
I know what it is I can do
This updated tech just keeps tripping me up
It's just untied lace on your shoe
Is it? silly me....

Hi D, thanks for your comments on Naked. Glad you thought it authentic but I have been happily married for 20 years and it's all fiction! Was inspired by a friend's relationship breakdown, but poetic license was liberally applied.

I just did pick up on a clue here
You wrote it all down in straight lines
But despite trying hard to disguise this
You actually wrote lines within rhymes
(I not such a dumb bunny after all....)
Now what's this about quantum fizzicks Ruth
No clue did jump at me re coke
It fizzes like mad when you pull top
Am I taking the mick, making joke?
(He's clueless....)

The real message I want to alert you to, is that if you have an old phone or iPad from 2012 you need to update it before midnight or it will cease to work properly, some people still use old tech for other purposes so it's worth making sure that you are Updated!

I don't apologise
For being what I am
Was born like it I had no choice
Sometimes a battering ram
Take me as I am
Or leave me as I am
Join me on a journey
(To who on earth knows where?.....)

Exquisite Adam! Wonderful! Honestly I would very much like to see all these poems of yours with the single worded titles bound together in a poetic anthology. I love this and all the ones before and probably all the next! Never stop writing! Kudos!?

The last four lines make me want to turn to BoB Dylan's Tambourine Man for solace... The first few lines remind me of something I wrote once upon a time for a friend who felt that way. It's called "Resist" and it's posted here. That's my answer to you, dear Adam. Resist! Wondering poem! Kudos?

Thank you Adam so much from the bottom of my heart for trusting your beautiful poem with me! It is a beautiful piece and it was a pleasure reading it and delving deeper into it. So many layers there, with each time I read it new things were revealed to me! Thanks you too Martin, for always supporting my reciting attempts!
Keep writing everybody!?

Lynn,
I read this poem as if I were on an express train. As I climbed off onto the platform, I thought, Yes girl you have it right.
More poetry from heart and mind please.
Thank you

People used to stare intently at me and advise against daydreaming, then I thought briefly about it and ignored it. I suppose it depends what escalator you're on. Some would run up the down one to prove something. Your lovely poem puts that aside and resonates with your usual meditative delights Tom.

Beautiful writing - tragic photo - 'is being free' only in a geographical sense. What has happened there is awful, and no-one did anything about the occupation.

Great Becky! Your childhood habit of aplogising in self defence is familiar! Sometimes I go to buy cosmetics (always have been optimistic!) and the girl pityingly hands out free samples of anti- wrinkle stuff. The other day I gor fed up and said I had a right to my wrinkles, they were a part of my life!!! Now i get scent samples instead - much nicer. How true are the last two lines!

Great writing and absolutely agree about the first line. Here there is an allied war cemetery , very sad - there is one boy of only 17, and a great many Gurkhas and Indian troops. Apparently they were the only mountain troops we had.
