The title invokes that famous Joy Division song from 'Closer' (appropriate enough for a Manchester poet). Pity I missed this book launch, it sounded good.

Have you any idea what it was about? its a long time since I have written anything, and I cannot remember a poem from the association of it's picture after this amount of time. XXX

Heh heh - put me down for a copy of that book!
I'm wondering if you know Winston, site adminstrator for new joiners. He is a juggler and entertainer too. It is an unusual career - very rewarding, I would imagine.

You're better off with an oldster in a motorised cart, tartan rug and all, than a gorilla swinging a golf club! I think I go
with the wit who described golf as "a good walk spoiled".

Ladies - thanks for your feedback. I value the
feminine perspective is such things...we men
can be a bit reticent about emotional things.
J.C. - thanks for the tip about R.M.'s work. I'll check it out. Alas, any thought of having a "bloody big cog" would merely render me guilty of wishful thinking!
Salutations.

Oh, Stella, I could hear you as I read this, that lush voice of yours. The imagery here, though quite cold and wintry is nonetheless lush - lots for the mind's eye to conjure. I enjoyed this very much. XX

The best part of the poem is the last verse. Until then I wasn't really hooked in. That last verse really kicks you in the stomach and leaves you hurting. Putting a brave front on is perhaps something I can more identify with. I love the baldness of it.

Hey, thanks Cynth for your note on Biblical Imbecility, glad you liked it :) Yeh, kind of what I was getting at,the lunatic interpretations of what is essentially a bulgy-eyed hysterical part of the whole - although have to say some of it's great! Was thrilled with the 4 horsemen!

Tommy- long-time 'listener'- first-time 'caller' I heard you on BBC radio other day :o) I was wondering why the 'West' were eager to invade Libya but are reluctant to intervene with Syria, I checked the oil reserves of both country:
Libya oil reserves = 46,400,000,000 Barrels
Syrian oil reserves = 2,500,000,000 Barrels
...!

Thank you for your lovely comments on my poem 'De-friend...'. Yep, I too have fallen victim to the curse of being a facebook parent. For some reason, my daughter is always very unimpressed with my postings :) When I get to the stage of facebook grandparent...I hope to have just as much spirit as the star of my poem.
