Thank you so much for all of your comments. This poem is close to my heart.
And I'll try to post more, Graham!

Thanks Jennifer, appreciated point. To be assimilated is maybe to lose some identity, but hey, that's part of the deal sometimes.

The sun dying gallantly - a unique and unexpected image. Taken already. Your movement from sky to ground is silky smooth. Perhaps a comma or hyphen after "waiting"? All in all, placid and evocative.

Wonderfully crafted. Flitting from image to image supports the declarative statement, with a stunning final thought.

Really liked this one Ray. Clever idea to use the jigsaw. The awful thing is when the vital piece which completes it, in every sense is not there!

Hi Chris. I just wanted to express myself in saying that what you have written is like a seed sprouting , as yet in its early stage, wanting succour and pruning to grow . I sense you have a humility which can only be a good thing. I feel that you may have intended "rhythmic mood", I could be wrong ! Keep that inspiration going. Sometimes it's the only thing that counts.
Ray (An old timer).

Lovely in its simple plea, that to belong can be reinforced by someone's true caring. You have hit an elegy sweet spot Rachel. We should all learn to carve out such truths.

Beautifully and simply expressive Tom. I never tire of your work. The last line just rounds it all nicely and the sketch is key to the piece. Nothing to do with this, but I watched Don't Look Now last night and the attention to detail in Venice reminded me of your detailed moments.

Hi Fish.. I just picked up on this and enjoyed it a lot. I was born in that year funnily enough. Life after the war had a sort of stunned innocence for us kids quite exciting to see old rubble sites for playing in. Funny now to try remembering when the first colour films came out ! Really quite moving, reminiscent of the film Hope and Glory.

Thanks for the likes, Rachel, Jane and Afishamongmany.
Yes David. some more deep ponderings with a cardboard backdrop - just like to add a bit of the surreal to these big considerations ! Great clip thanks. Such an original performer.
Thank you Chris, glad that worked for you. Came out in a rush.
A very astute point Martin. Ways of contending with we what we have and trying to adapt can give substance to life as well as being a challenge.

Nicely done Jeff. I appreciate the Clash more now than I did in my younger days..
On another note, I see your from Bolton and I have a couple of friends who live there. I've been to a couple of poetry nights in Liverpool (I'm based in west Lancs). Just wondering what the poetry scene's like in your neck of the woods?

Do check that tiny typo in your bio 'its currents are cruel'. (just because you're so good!)
Now that I'm better, I'll try to catch up with more of your work. With much pleasure, I'm sure.

Thanks for looking in, Ray.
I enjoyed the Benjamin Britten piece--it is like painting with sound. And, it made waking up to what is looking to be a somewhat grey day, a bit more pleasant.

Thanks John, Martin, M.C, Jon and Trevor.
I personally have no fear of spiders, but when I have to pick up a particularly big hairy one I have to think twice about it. As M.C said there's "something of the night about them"
Cheers Kevin
