Wow, that is powerful. How accurate some points you made about the Filth that runs so deeply behind the Walls of the church. How so many have fallen victim by their hands, including myself and all in the name of thier lustful needs. Making the claim God wills it. No God would will the destruction and down fall of the innocence.

Impressing bio John! I can relate on some issues (check my bio). I also loved your sample "stolen child"! I can say it faintly reminds me of the Peter Pan fantasy; some magical shadow sweeping you off in the middle of the night and taking into a dreamworld!?
I believe you definitely have a lot of things to say.
Thanks

Morning Josie,

Much like you, I've written all my life but only poetry. I've never shared before because I didn't want to or just didn't know how, but trust me, be confident, write, share, no-one will judge and if they do, balls to them. It feels good to finally put stuff out there just so it's heard and for me, if it's good that's great and if it's not that's fine too.

Your friends have it right. Write, share, be bold and enjoy it, (also check out Lisa Donohoe, lovely honest and heartfelt).

By the way, absolutely love your sample, genuinely!?

Jason.

An interesting contemporary consideration of the Shakespearian
observation that all the world is a stage and that we are just players. The saying "we are all things to all men" continues the theme - as
we adapt to suit the circumstances and company in which we find
ourselves.

I have always been unimpressed by the reports of a certain organisation in Brussels resisting the auditing of its accounts and
how it binds its disciples close via a clause that prohibits them from
speaking critically about it at the risk of losing their very generous
pensions. Democracy in action - EU style?

Hi M.C.
You did absolutely nothing wrong with regard to your viewing my Jigsaw 'poem'.
I don't think I'd done a jigsaw for 60+ years, but ...
My Father in Law gave me a jigsaw for Xmas and it became such a compulsive task in finishing it, that I could have wanged it out of the door.
I began to write a poem about the frustrations, but then thought that I could express my feelings better by just writing nothing.
Me trying to be a smart-arse.
At my age I should know better.

Hope I may be forgiven ?

Superbly put Laura.

In this situation, caring for a loved one with dementia, requires an infinite amount of patience, but even the strongest of us will
occasionally give way under the stress of repetition.....and immediately regret it. It is a heart-rending and soul destroying situation. All you can offer is love.

Be brave.

Thank you for taking the time to read my piece John! And I agree we do all fall and it is how we rise that matters indeed! But this piece was really just a little bit of word play!
The angel falls from heaven and unto Earth. He falls into humanity, not hell. Love makes one vulnerable and the angel becomes vulnerable as he falls. Love also means sacrifice and this angel sacrifices his spot in heaven not for power but for his lover. He falls not in hell but in love. Nothing to do with sins or anything biblical really nor with anything literal as in "falling down". Here "falling" is romanticized!

Clearly, a heartfelt piece and it contains much to consider carefully.
But all things surely have a guiding power and control, human or
otherwise, that we have to place at our service along the way.
You can go with the wind but which way do you want it to send you? You can also go against the wind if it keeps you from where you
wish to be and still reach your port of call. Sailing close to the wind -
like many old adages - has a meaning in reality that is readily
referenced to life's various demands and predicaments, not least
in creative endeavours.

May I be the first to comment Phil. Do my old eyes deceive me or was there just a smidgeon of sarcasm herein, or are you flexing an alter ego as many do.... and we see it often.

On a serious note - bollox comes in many forms.

Loved it of course.

I find a true seeker in this poem David, a curiosity for what might be , in a darkly humorous context. Equally strangely, I always have difficulty with the pronunciation. Is it "Lie sa" or "Lee sa" as in Liza Minelli. Another conundrum you have triggered off!

Hi Lisa. When I wrote this it was a kind of relief I suppose, and the philosophical implications of not getting things into proportion, which we have recently seen. There are always winners and losers, but I am pleased you have given it a thumbs up, as this is my side of a story. I did feel stifled and stultified. We are all different, and some have of us short term effects that raise the awareness bar and capture attention by charisma and dramatic effect. I'll leave it at that.

To précis my response David I think some get addicted to their own sum total, or falling for their own version of life without having the compass or experience to realise distortions. Perhaps they are the ones most in need of signposts and obey them . Not me fella. When all is said and done, poetry is just a response to life, not life itself. Thanks for your full comment.

Good points Stu. Yes it needed to happen this way.

Jennifer, nice to have your approval.!

The brevity is challenging - and probably timeless in the mind.
However "Who the hell am I?" may be seen and answered as a
means of identification.. Perhaps more pertinent to our self-regard/esteem and relationship to others is "What the hell am I?" ?

Hi Ray, sorry for having so long to answer your 'graffiti' post. Agree there were a couple of weeks when nothing much appeared, for what my opinion may be worth! The last few days have produced a lot of good stuff it seems to me. Chris Armstrong - Vautaw - Charlottle Peters Rock - Chris Hubbard - Jon Stainsby, as usual great. I think you have a very high standard, as set by your work. Not many people have such a plentiful fount of inspiration, or the ability to turn quite mundane sights/happenings, (the drunken man) into something intelligent, well composed , interesting and often moving. I loved the robin Haiku, small but perfect. Keep up your own good work!
By the way what has happened to Benu? I can't 'get' him anymore, so he has either left or crossed me off!
Keep your pecker up! No hidden meaning, I hasten to say!!!!!

Martin, sad to say, I never saw anyone talking to this lady; I don't think she appeared to invite that. It would be awkward I suppose and that's really a shame. I don't judge as I'm not qualified, I think that leaves a sense of wonder open. Others may and often do of course, Thanks.

Thank you it’s a hard disease to come to terms with or keep up with for both the sufferer and family trying to hold on or come to terms with and just as you think you’ve come to terms with the condition taking over your nearest and dearest it sweeps through even more proving that your never a step ahead or as prepared as you think and you beat yourself up about how the beginning was just over repeating the same story or contradicting everything you say and answering the same questions that were only answered not long before it hurts but once it worsens and you think back to the frustration and anger that followed from having to repeat yourself each time you’d give anything to have to just tell the same stories again instead of having to look at someone you love looking back empty eyed with wonder of who you are and why You want to be with them x
