Obsessive Shopping
Obsessive Shopping
Years ago I was impulsive and easily led
A shopping spree when I bought up everything in sight
I was obsessed with the need to possess
to have and own more despite the cost
Sales drew me like a magnet of desire
I rummaged to find style and size together
My wardrobe and bookcase creaked under an excessive weight
When back indoors with my latest booty

Is this you? or is there someone else you'd rather be?
Don't look at your reflection. Look deep, deep down.

Do you like what you see?
If not, don't run,

Wheatshire |Bird poem n.3
The chirp comes halfway between my dreams and yours
And this time you’re not there for me to ask
What did you dream
What did I dream
To confirm that what we dream is real
Like the bird and its little white chest
Is my hand as it strokes yours on my stomach.
The bird waits patiently outside my window and yours
Now at different places, but the very same bird
How does he do...

The Idea
I fell
Hard
To the ground
And when I stood
You bandaged me up
And took me home
Made me
Promise
I’d never leave
And when I stood
You were halfway
Out the door
I fell
Hard
To the ground
For your words
And empty truths
Made me
Promise
I’d never leave
And when I stood
You were halfway
Out the door
I fell
Hard

My Body | Insomniac? |A Poem Like A Person
A poem.
Like a cavernous room,
like an echo off the sound
of a heart breaking in two.
A poem.
Like a song.
Like lemon trees and clean sheets
Amongst the brighter things.
A poem like a riptide.
Like shallow breathing,
like rapid sinking
like sand scraping hand
like water beating land.
Like thinking…
A poem.
Like a good morning text.

No longer
The birds still sing,
but it’s a sorrowful tune.
A friendship once cherished,
now gone so soon.
A heart once happy,
now a heart of regret.
The loss of a friend,
makes me oh so upset.
The birds no longer sing,
and there are no beats from my heart.
All because your selfishness,
dragged us further apart.

Think of me
When you here my voice do you think of my face do you wonder where I am in this big city place. I'm I wrapped around your heart like the ring that you once wore and are the memories of my love still knocking at your door. And is there a special place hidden in your heart, hidden that distant place, hidden in the dark, and do you think of me some times am I ever on your mind listen to your heart d...

Peace
-kishore karunik
I want peace
Weapon clean in the sky
I want peace
North and south
East and west
Horizon form horizon
Water at land
The Hill, mount and Hole.
I want peace in green and pomp
Of follower in petal
Of tree in leaf to leaf,
Peace. I want peace
In poem at rhythm and Literature
I want peace at heart
Of man for man
I want peace of everybody
I walk my for peace

Paradise
When I die
I'd hate to lie
in a cold deathgarden
bones to harden
in a stony tomb.
When I die
I'd like to lie
in that place
where ferns like lace
hide a jade snake's lair.
Where ancient pines
shelter the lines
of scarlet cherries.
Where pure magic flows
slaking the rows
of humble kitchen plants.
When I die I'd like to lie
in the warm windrace

The Gown
Mysteries lay hidden
Underneath the ruffles
Of her afternoon dress.
Blues and greens
Merge together
To create her gown.
It starts with the
Soft tones of blues and greens.
The longer the gown,
The darker the tone becomes.
A gown of blues and greens
With white lace
And silver linings.
They wish to tame her,
But she is an untameable force.

Coloured Change | The War |The Far Off Stare
Watching every twitch, each squirm
Observing my skin as goosebumps form
Longing for your touch
Songs of passion in my throat
Claim me again, hum into my ear
Good girl
Revel in the bridge raised within my breast with each gasp of air
Breathe life into me with every mention of my name
Gazing upon my weakened state
Panting
Needing
Claim me again, pack my head with fuz...

Last Night
…(gemma)...Gemma…
“Gemma!” She snapped into consciousness, only partly. Her head was pounding and her fingers felt swollen.
“What time is it?” she murmured. Her eyelids remained heavy still, but they opened wide enough to notice the thin rays of light streaming through the dorm room’s blinds. Gemma shifted her body to face Alex. He looked almost as groggy as s...

Walkabout
You would think that I would have a handle on this Based as I am in no space, with no story but the road But those who let loose in raves surrounded for miles By pavements, they think that they can achieve That state, there, in Clubs in the basements of high-rises. Maybe they know more about this than the lion in the zoo. These faces come and go, family is far flung across The...

Lumberjacks
Why is the sweetest fruit always just out of your reach?
I guess it would be boring if it was always at your feet.
Even with the tallest of ladders it's tantalisingly close,
Filling you with a false sense of hope.
Throwing sticks to dislodge it may bruise it,
Wait for it to fall and you may lose it.
So here's my tip, one helpful little fact
Cut down the tree with a bloody great axe!

Just Like Always
You left
Just like them
I cried
Just like always
Now she dwindles
Just like yesterday
I fear
Just like always
Heart slows and turns blue
Just like before
Now up to me to change its hue
Just like always
Feeling mixed emotions
Just like in my youth
Wanting to get it right
Just like always
Searching for answers
Just like praying fools do
Only...

The Unseen Fight
How can I fight what I cannot see?
Will this pain inside me always be?
Give me a mountain, that I can move,
And there my strength I can prove.
This pain is a foe without hands or feet
No physical hurt can match or meet
Surgery or stitches cannot repair
As my crying soul lays naked and bare
With a cup I would drain any sea
Such a small, simple task that wou...

My Fault?
The truth about my mum is strange,
I don’t know how I felt,
To only learn the truth long after,
‘Bout how her death was dealt.
The truth was hard once it came out,
I felt helpless and alone
All my hopes and all my fears
Where waiting there at home.
That of course of years ago
But pain still rules my heart
I hurt inside, I wanna cry
Why couldn’t I play my ...

Death
is so untidy.
It sneaks up when you’re not ready.
Doesn’t give you a chance
to return the library books,
or cancel the milk.
It would be far better
if it could make an appointment,
give you time to finish what you’re doing.
I get that it’s inevitable,
that nobody escapes it.
Maybe you can evade it for a while,
but sooner or later
you know it will come,
the fi...

Chronic
I have recently read
That pain is the hardest
Situation a human can
Try to explain.
If that’s so,
Is fear considered
To be pain?
Does pain have to
Be a broken bone?
A head ache?
A tight chest?
A burn?
Is pain not
The anxiety of waiting
For everything to fit?
Is pain not
The force of trying
to piece together
two completely different
puzzles to become one?
I can never...

Two of Yorkshire’s Greatest
You both made us all feel loved, both made us feel important, both welcomed us with open arms even if we had been naughty.
Grandma you were always there to listen,
You’d always hold us if we were crying,
But if we ever crossed the line a slipper would come flying.
Grandad you’d never fail to make us smile,
You’d make us laugh so much we’d cry,
And taught us all when bu...

Billy the Grey
Now hear me tell
Of Billy the Grey
Who’d fill you in about
judgement day.
He’d stand in the pulpit
Persian fur flying
With tales of hell fires
That had small kittens crying.
He’d tell the miracle
of feeding 5000 cats
With one tin of Whiska’s
And 2 skinny rats.
He travelled the world
Furry souls to save
Seeking repentment
Till he...
