It's Halloween: The Ghastly Goblin Gala

When the sky’s ink-black and the moon’s gone mad,
It’s a Halloween night like you’ve never had!
Down cobblestone streets, shrieks fill the air,
As witches stomp by with green tangled hair.

A zombie brigade starts to drag their dead feet,
Groaning, “Brains!” as they lurch towards every street.
Kids shriek, “Trick or treat!” with devilish glee,
While vampires hiss, "Save a drop for me!"

Experience To Reaction To Reflection

Experience alone, does not make us wise,
For age and years, do not guarantee the prize.
It's how we react, to life's every test,
That shapes our soul, and puts us to the best.

Reflection's mirror, shows our inner face,
Helping us grow, in time and space.
Through trials and falls, we rise anew,
Awareness born, of what we once knew.

Experience teaches, but doesn't transform,
Until we re...

Smudger with scrim,  I remember him,

With bucket in hand, throughout the land, my Dad was fit as a fiddle

With harvest safely gathered in

this Hallows Eve, the dead will rise

to haunt the homes of kith and kin

with echoes of the bean sí’s cries.

Then fearful folk will all withdraw,

and leave outside their sacred gift,

remaining safe from tooth and claw

of spectral shades who cross the rift.

Forever drowning in a sea of grey

Amidst its melancholic sway

Hello, can you hear me?

I'm writing so you can see me

Without a thought or planning

An idea is hatching

Could it be good, could it be sad?

Should I Choose Myself, or Continue to Choose You?

How does one move on from betrayal and grief?

Resources swear "follow these steps to find relief".

Accept the hurt, embrace the pain,

Choose to trust your partner and learn to love again.

I'm convinced this advice comes from people who just don't know,

That being betrayed by the person you least expected to hurt you, hinders your ability to grow.

How so small of stares - often end up,

Giving the most enchanting moments to some souls.

A placid feeling in my heart it instills.

Poplars in November

Their branches proud above the town

like men in rank, their feet in mud,

skyward facing they can't look down

their roots fixed in this land of blood.

And onward, over fields and seas

men wrenched their hearts too far from home,

mere saplings who would not make trees

but from whose seed a nation's grown.

Across the green, the cenotaph

Rapid Toccata, stylistically free

Dancing carefree, rhythmically to her beat

Their surnames were written on their hats.

Where did you get those names I did react.

"Oh those are their surnames " said Pat,

"All their first names are Cat"
